Current Projects This is where I'll show you what I'm currently working on in my garage.
| Restoration of '84 Z50R Update: (6/23/2006) I installed all of the parts except for the skidplate. It bumped into the exhaust pipe and could not be mounted. The manual clutch works great and is definately worth the money. Update: (6/1/2006) My manual clutch, levers, tool, and number plate arrived today from TB. All in great condition. Thank you Trail Bikes. Update: (5/30/2006) Today I ordered my manual clutch kit from Honda Trail Bikes. I also ordered the tool required to remove the clutch nut, and a front number plate and levers to use for the clutch. The parts should be arriving in 2-7 business days. 6/6/2006 at the latest. The skid plate should arrive by 6/2/2006 and I haven’t heard when the longer shifter will arrive but hopefully soon. More pictures.

Update: (5/29/2006) Wow! two updates in one day. That is a first. Well yo uprobably think that helmets are no big deal. Well they are and riders pride themselves in it. I may pride myself too much as I wax my helmets. But they look real nice. I got some more sticers from BBR Motorsports and stuck them one my helmets. They are hard to put on curved surfaces but it's possible. The left helmet is my bicycle helmet and the right is my motorcycle helmet. Hopefully I'll have some grphics from other places so I don't look to monochromatic Update: (5/29/2006) I'm sorry about the lateness of this update. I'm going to try in the future to update every saturday. I recently bought a skidplate off eBay for $32.00. I think that's a steal. Hopefully the quality is good. I also bought a shift lever from an older model Z50A. These had shift levers about an inch longer than mine. This was $8.00. It is bent and will have to be bent back. This is not a problem because probably two thirds of my bikes had bent shifters when they arrived in my garage. I still have not restarted on this project but am hoping to aroun 6/20/2006. I am getting a $250 check for neighborly services within the next day and that will pey for my manual clutch kit from TB (Trail Bikes). finally some pictures. Update: (5/1/2006) I am currently saving to buy a TB Manual Clutch Kit. It's $165.00 shipping. I have so far saved about $110 so I'm getting there quickly. Update: (4/26/2006) It arrived today via USPS. I have already Dut the necessary wires to make it fit. The green and stripped wire were cut because they were not required for this bike. Because of imposing circumstances, I will have to postpone all projects including my minitrail dirtbikes. This will not allow the installation of my NOS grips, brake lever, or tires. Restoration of the 1988 model is also stopped until 6/20/2006. Note that the title has been changed. This box will include all restorations/modifications to the 1984 bike. The switch was purchased on eBay from seller DRATV. You can also purchase this part from his website http://www.dratv.com/ The NOS parts were purchased from http://www.bikebandit.com/ Update: I won the auction for $18.02. It will be arriving soon hopefully. |
| Diamondback Update: (5/10/2006) Two days ago, I started to dissasemble my bike so that I could repaint the brake arms. So I have finished the front brakes and for some reason they work a lot better. I am waiting for the back arms to dry as I type. I'll have pictures up when I'm done. Update: (5/13/2006) Yesterday I bought a bike secondhand for $5. It was a load of rusty (four letter word). Well most of the parts were actually fine but half the fasteners were rusted tight. WD40 helped. It had linear pull brakes which i gave to a very joyous friend. His brakes are a lot better now. I will soon update the spare parts page. Update: (5/7/2006) Today I sanded down the paint on the brake levers, seat clamp, and chain adjusters. They are all aluminum parts and will not rust. I will next sand down the brake arms. No pictures up yet but I'll try to have them soon. Update: (5/1/2006) Not really anything about modifying my bike, but I hit some ramps by the pond today and they are real high jumps. They're hardpacked dirt ramps and it's high enough to do some fairly large tail whips. Update: Well I have the pictures but they are two days later than I stated before. Sorry. Here they are. Oh, and don't forget to check out http://www.bbrmotorsports.com/ | I got a small number of free stickers from BBR Motorsports yesterday (4/24/2006). So after waxing my bike and painting the pegs, I put the stickers on and my bike looks real spiffy. So I'll have pictures up later today.
